To date, 1 FUR 1 has provided animal assisted therapy and activities, free-of-charge, to over 308,721 people in need of healing on their journey to wellness. 1 FUR 1 Foundation is made by 100% volunteers on a mission create, nurture and expand therapeutic programs in the U.S.A. Our innovative approach is helping:
- Child crime victims testify in court with supportive canine advocates by their side
- First responders and medical staff overcome burn-out and fatigue while on the job with the help of Newfie therapy dogs
- Autistic children overcome physical and cognitive challenges with encouraging therapy mini horses
- Veterans and their families receive animal assisted intervention as an alternative health care plan
- Dementia and Alzheimer patients whose mood is elevated and positive memories are triggered by interacting with a specially trained animal
